NORTH BROWARD CRITIQUE GROUP

Group Leaders: Lisa Ponczek
Meeting Info: We meet once every three weeks at Barnes and Noble Bookstore, University Drive in Coral Springs, 7:00 p.m.

Open to New Members? No, but interested SCBWI members should still contact the group leader since we will take new members as openings come available.
Focus: All genres welcome from Picture books to Young Adult. Children's poetry too.

 

BROWARD COUNTY

Group Leaders: Kerry Cerra
Meeting Info: Twice Monthly. Weekdays in the a.m. Location varies.
Members in Group: 3
Open to New Members? Yes, but will cap at 5
Focus: All children's genres

 

HOLLYWOOD WRITERS GROUP

Group Leaders: Angela Padron
Meeting Info: We meet one Tuesday each month from 7-9 pm. We meet at members' homes on a rotating basis, located between Plantation, Pembroke Pines, and Hollywood.

Focus: Picture books, chapter books, middle grade, illustrations



FT. LAUDERDALE (SCBWI BROWARD REVIEW)

Group Leaders: Patti Zelch, Gail Payne, and Eda Lang
Meeting Info:The group meets at 1220 East Broward Blvd, Ft. Lauderdale, on the second Tuesday of the month in the mornings
Members in Group:
Open to New Members? No, the group is full but will consider others as openings develop
Focus: Exclusively writing for children, YA, MG, PB, Non-F, Magazine, Poetry



FT. LAUDERDALE

Group Leader: Marjory Lyons
Meeting Info: Meets weekly on Tuesday from 1-3 PM at
Parish Hall of All Saints Episcopal Church, 333 Tarpon Drive, Ft. Lauderdale
Members in Group:
Open to New Members? Yes.
Focus: adult novels, memoirs, non-fiction, and children's writers.
Advanced group, most are published
Cost: $2.00 donation for use of Parish Hall




SUNRISE

Group Leader: Jennifer Dash-Dixon and Kitt Kelleher
Meeting Info: We meet at private residences located in Sunrise and Plantation between Oakland park bld and Sunrise Blvd-west of turnpike,
east of University drive.
We meet Saturday mornings 11-1
(based on availability-we meet at least one Saturday a month)
Members in Group: 2
Open to New Members? Yes but would like to keep the group small
and be willing to meet at residence.
Focus: PB, MG, YA, Non-Fiction
