Before writing and illustrating books for children, Matt Whitlock worked as an animator for
Walt Disney Feature Animation, and has worked on several hit films including Mulan, Tarzan,
The Emperor's New Groove, Lilo & Stitch, and Brother Bear. His first 2 children's books won
the Florida Writer's Association Royal Palm Award for Best Children's Book for 2 consecutive years.
He recently had the honor of being invited to be a guest "Cartoonist-In-Residence" at The
Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center in Santa Rosa, California to speak about writing and
illustrating. His independant publishing company, Little Hero Productions, was launched in 2005 with
it's first book, Punk 'n Patch, and the sequel, Punk's Christmas Carol,
in 2006.
He resides in Orlando, Florida with his wife, Jenny, and his dog, Mojo.
