SCBWI-FLORIDA REGIONAL CONFERENCE
January 12-14, 2007

BOOK SALES: Speakers, Workshop Leaders, Critiquers, and SCBWI members registered for the conference may sell their books. Contact Marta Magellan at marta.magellan@gmail.com by December 15, 2006. The Book Store will be open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Book Signings in the Book Store will be on Saturday, January 13th during breaks in the schedule.

FIRST PAGE CRITIQUES: Bring the First-Page of your novel or picture book, double-spaced, 12-point type, 250 words or less, one page only. Write the title and genre at the top of the page, but do not put your name on it. Panelists will select a few submissions to read aloud and critique. Leave your First-Pages at the registration desk before 9:00 AM, Saturday, January 13th. There is no charge for this informal critique. Submissions will be recycled afterwards.

HOTEL: Wyndham Miami Airport Hotel To make your reservation, you can either call the hotel directly at 305-871-3800 or dial 1-800-WYNDHAM. You may also go to wyndhamhotelmia.com. Be sure to enter our group code, which is 0112394SOC so you can get the correct rate, $159 for a single room and $175 for a double room (includes breakfast). There is a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel every 15 minutes during the day and every half hour in the middle of night. Please see attached directions for the hotel.

RAFFLE: Win a Critique with Babara Seuling! In addition to the regular First-Page Critique session, Barbara Seuling has agreed to a second critique session for three winners of our raffle, and three conference volunteers randomly selected by a drawing. Each winner will have one-on-one time with Barbara during the second workshop session on Sunday. We have some wonderful door prizes that will be raffled as well.

INFORMAL CRITIQUE GROUPS: Meet in small critique groups with volunteer SCBWI critique group leaders from around the state. Read your work aloud to the group and listen as they critique it. If you have never been in a critique group before, this is a great opportunity to see if you enjoy this kind of feedback. Meet Friday, January 12 at 9:00 PM at Books and Books

LISTSERV: To join, contact Linda Bernfeld, lrbjsb@bellsouth.net.

STORYBOOK BALL: Come dressed as your favorite storybook character and don't forget your dancing shoes for Saturday night's dinner ball!

All proceeds from the sale of the pins will be used to fund this scholarship.
