Our two days
of workshops feature an Illustrator Intensive Day (Friday) and a
four track Mid-Year Workshop (Saturday). A boxed lunch is included
in each day's registration fee.
Friday, June 15 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ILLUSTRATOR INTENSIVE
Join Caldecott Medalist David Diaz and author/illustrator Janeen
Mason for a one day Illustrator Intensive. The event is intended
for committed illustrators who wish to hone their craft through
hands-on activities and discussion. This event is separate from
the June 16 Mid-YearWorkshop and carries a separate fee. Please
note that there will be homework required for this session.

The workshop will feature four tracks: Picture Book, Middle Grade,
Young Adult, and Poetry. Participants stay in one track all day
for first page critiques, writing exercises, and market information
in that genre. The four tracks ensure small groups and a more focused
learning environment.

FIRST
PAGE CRITIQUES
are included within your track for no additional
charge.Bring the first page of your novel or picture book, double
spaced, 12 point type, 250 words or fewer, one page only. You may
include the title and genre, but do not include your name or other
personal information.
PAID
CRITIQUES
for manuscripts and art/portfolios are available
to registered participants for an additional $35 each. POSTMARK
DEADLINE IS MAY 5, 2007 for all forms and fees. Sorry, we
can NOT honor requests for specific critiquers. You will be
notified by e-mail of the time and person providing your critique
by June 1, 2007.
Illustrators
include the Critique Submission Form with your check and
registration form, and postmarked no later than May 5, 2007.
Bring artwork/portfolios to the workshop.
Writers
include TWO copies of your manuscript (up to 10 pages* in standard
submission format**) with your check, registration form, and Critique
Submission Form and postmarked no later than May 5, 2007.
*Although a picture book may have fewer than ten
pages, each separate story counts as a separate submission.

INFORMAL CRITIQUE GROUPS:
may meet Friday night in the lobby at 8:00 p.m. There will be no formal
leaders.
BOOK
SALES:
Faculty books will be available for purchase.
BOOK
BASKET:
Bring a new or gently used childrenšs book to put in our book basket.
The books will be used to restock a library either here in Florida or
in a hurricane damaged area.

and illustrator critique requests, manuscripts, and fees must be postmarked
no later than May 5, 2007.
May 15, 2007: Last day for early registration.
